12 Jolly Old Folly

The stockings were hung
by the chimney with care.
And Santa had taken them each from there.
He waddled outside with a jolly old chuckle,
That shook his great belly
where it met his brass buckle.
Tied to the trees, outside in the cold,
A practical joker, Santa was bold.
The people would wake and wonder that morn
Where are the stockings
‘round the chimney adorned?
They’d wander outside and see them hung high
And ask each other, “What’s up with this guy?”
“Does Claus think he’s funny, all full of wit?”
Santa would laugh and say, “Just a bit!”
