Write down the most cliche New Year’s Resolution you can think of. Now explore that for your life. What would it take to act on it today? What would be the benefit? What are the potential pitfalls? Who could you trust to hold you accountable without making you feel guilty (as if anyone could guilt you more than you can guilt yourself)? We often speak of New Year’s Resolutions and there’s certainly a lot of disdain for them in pop culture and shame around them come February or March. But for now, take a breath, and explore it a little bit. Perhaps writing it down is the key to a tangible, healthy first step.
Please give yourself fifteen minutes for this exercise. Write it up and see what happens.
